Santiago Calatrava is a Spanish architect known for his skeletal, organic structures that emphasize movement, negative space, and light. A defining aspect of his work is how his white, sculptural forms interact with the sky, allowing light and shadow to shape the experience of space.

The project was to design a book cover and layout that visually translates Calatrava’s architectural principles. The goal was to capture his mastery of structure, negative space, and light in a way that feels both striking and refined.

Calatrava’s work is defined by openness. His structures don’t just exist in space, they frame it. His use of negative space and interplay between light and shadow inspired me to design something that felt just as deliberate. I wanted to create a book that, at a glance, felt linked to his architecture, evoking the same elegance and spatial awareness.

ARCHITECTURE IS NOT ABOUT FORM, BUT ABOUT THE SOUL OF THE BUILDINGS, THE SPIRIT OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THEM.
